This has become one of my favorite baby gifts.
You decorate a box inside and out (any kind with a lid will work), I’ve used photo boxes, paper mache boxes etc. If I know the decor of the room I try and make it match by using fabric or wrapping paper.
I add a pen, a memo cube which I glue inside the bottom of the box and another small box or container to hold notes.
The poem can be put in a card or attached to the lid of the box.
Baby’s Memory Box
Baby books are great ideas,
but sometimes you’re too busy.
Living with a little one
can put you in a tizzy.
Milestones pass too fast at times
to find the proper page.
So, jot a note of each event
with date or baby’s age
(like “Took 3 steps on May the 1st”
or “Teething — 5 December”),
then drop it in this Memory Box
to help you to remember!

These fun kits are made simply by adding all of the “ingredients”, printing the list of items and their meaning and putting it all in a jar with a nice decorative jar topper. These are inexpensive kits, especially if you can recycle the jar from your kitchen (keep your eye open for nice jelly and relish jars at the store.
