Cherry Crisp

1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1-16 ounce can cherry pie filling
1/3 cup pecans, chopped
1/2 cup cooking oats
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon almond extract

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Combine the flour, oats, and brown sugar. Blend in the softened butter. Pat half of the mixture into the bottom of a 9 square pan. Combine the cherry pie filling and the almond extract. Spread the cherry mixture over the crust. Add the pecans to the remaining flour-oatmeal mixture and spread it over the top of the pie. Bake approximately 30 minutes. Let cool before serving.
