Apple Pork Chops

Main Courses > Pork/Ham

1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp paprika
1/8 tsp white pepper
6 pork chops
1/4 cup oil
2 medium-size cooking apples
2 cups apple juice, divided
3 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp groung allspice

combine flour, salt, paprika and white pepper and dredge pork chops in the mixture. Reserve the remaining flour mix. Brown pork chops in oil. Arrange chops in a 13x9x2 baking pan. Core unpeeled apples, and cut into rings, place on chops. Pour 1 1/2 cups apple juice over apples. Combine sugar and allspice, sprinkle over apples. Bake, uncovered, at 325* for 1 hr or until chops are tender.* Remove pork chops and apple slices to serving platter reserving pan drippings. Dissolve 1 1/2 tbsp remaining flour mix in remaining 1/2 cup apple juice. Combine in saucepan and cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly. Serve over pork chops.
* The gravy takes about 10min to thicken so you'll want to keep them hot. It helps to get the apple juice heated just before the pork chops come out of the over.

This takes great. The gravy has a very full flavor and is great over mashed potatoes. I freeze the leftover gravy and use it when we have ham too.
