Forked Sugar CookiesRecipe Index: Desserts > Drop Cookies3/4 cup butter or margarine 1-1/4 cups sugar 2 egg whites, beaten until foamy 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 cups all-purpose flour 2 tablespoons cornstarch Directions Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Cream the butter or margarine with the sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg whites and vanilla. Sift the flour and cornstarch into the bowl and mix well. With floured hands, roll the dough into walnut-size balls. Place on greased cookie sheets, well spaced apart, and flatten with a fork. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack. Makes about 2 dozen |
